Ten Thousand Sundays

Sunday June 12:  Ten Thousand Sundays
Rev. David W. Chandler

Where has this church come in almost 200 years? Where will we be in another 200? Would you settle for 20 years – or even two? In his last sermon until January, Rev. Chandler considers the past – and the possibilities of our future.

Why Is There Air?

May 29:  Why Is There Air?
Rev. David W. Chandler

Deferred from November, but not forgotten – ask the minister! Bill Cosby’s timeless question may be on your mind. Ask away! Ask some old ones. Ask some new ones. Ask anything at all. David will provide an answer before we fire up the grill.

Kingdom of the Sick

May 1:  Kingdom of the Sick
Rev. David W. Chandler

Rev. David W. Chandler

Plan to wear your best chapeau and join in our bonnet parade! We will have special music from Choir and organ, a kids’ story and activities, and an Easter egg hunt. Be sure to bring Easter flowers! My sermon: “Practicing for God.”

A Simple Matter of Complexity

April 17 : A Simple Matter of Complexity
Rev. David W. Chandler

Looking ahead to the minister’s sabbatical this fall? Well, the minister is. I’m not the only one, but here are some thoughts about what it will mean to me, and to you. We are getting prepared for a special opportunity for renewal and discovery.

Affectionately Yours

March 27:  Affectionately Yours
Rev. David W. Chandler

Love gets most of the praise and poetry, but affection may be our essential need. No relationship – with those we love and all those around us – can last long without the elixir of the human heart. After all, we are not Gods but only people.

A Sermon on the Amount

March 20:  “A Sermon on the Amount”
Rev. David W. Chandler

“We Got Bills!” is the subtitle of this sermon. Church is like that – a blending of the ethereal and the practical. We kick off our annual pledge drive – Making Magic – with thoughts on why that is a good thing, now and in the coming year.
